So I'll start this blog off by saying that I think everyone is on their own journey, even when it comes to juice fasting/feasting (whichever your preferred terminology is). I have noticed from reading other peoples' experiences during a juice feast that people experience different symptoms on different days. So I want to mention a little about my lifestyle before I start this blog off officially!
I am a relatively healthy vegetarian. I am relatively active, meaning I ride my bike to work and around the neighborhood, but not as an intense workout. I eat pretty conscientiously avoiding GMO's, gluten and fluoride. No cigarettes, just everything green! ;p I still socially binge drink and have found myself eating dairy again. And that is why it is time for a cleanse! I am looking to reaffirm my love for vegan, whole- food cuisine and especially raw foods. I have found when I nibble even a little bit off of the raw, whole- food wagon, the old addictions start to thrive again. And I have seriously been so lenient with my values lately. Also, I want to lose like 70 lbs.. Sooo, I really want to work on a permanent cleaning regimen for my own optimal health!
This feast has commenced on January 21st, 2013. My official goal is 6o days. I am thinking I will do another 30 days thereafter of raw fruits and veggies only (no nuts or seeds).
Day 1:
I actually went and had a bunch of alcohol and food the day before my juice feast, so Day 1 was sort of rough as far as the hangover goes. I am pretty comfortable with skipping meals, as I've done short fasts before and today was especially easy because I was so stuffed up from the night before. But I just felt kind of nasty all day. It was a very good reminder of why I was doing this in the first place. Because I didn't make it to the store til' evening time, all I had today was coconut water before bed. I was too exhausted to juice. But at least I succeeded! :)
